As if the Separatists for Star Wars: Legion couldn’t already use one of the most iconic vehicles to come out of the Clone Wars, you can now play with more Wheel Bikes to your Droid army! This Special Forces Unit includes two (that’s right, two) TSMEU-6 Personal Wheel Bikes to be added to your Separatist Army, with the pilot customization option of either a Commando Droid or IG-100 Magnaguard. The wheeled bikes can roll through combat with nearly unchecked destruction, sweeping away Clones like they’re battlefield bowling pins.

Atomic Mass Games was kind enough to send us the expansion to review. Let’s see how much fun more Wheel Bikes on the battlefield can be!
Unboxing the TSMEU-6 Personal Wheel Bike

In the box, you get sprues, two bases, a unit card, upgrade cards, and order tokens. Like with all AMG products, there are multiple cards with different languages as well.
Randy is working on a super special scenic piece, so he has the other half of the sprues (which is why they’re not pictured!).

Cards for TSMEU-6 Personal Wheel Bike

It's pretty awesome how much 90 points of Wheel Bikes can bring to the game. Two models, each with 3 health and no Resilience threshold, each rolls red dice with Armor 1. Mobile grants it freedom with orientation, plus a free compulsory move. Climbing Vehicle helps with its mobility across the terrain on the field, too.
Overrun 2 is where this unit shines. It gets to make 2 Overrun attacks, which are separate from normal range/melee attacks. 3 black dice, with a surge to hit, can be really unfortunate for an enemy unit caught out in the open. This kind of attack allows a follow-up strike of sorts, because if movement causes displacement, then you can upset a defended enemy position pretty easily. Of course, the Double Laser Cannon’s attack is nothing to sneeze at either, which can put the hurt on enemy armor.
If you choose to include the IG-100 Magnaguard Pilot, then the bike gains “Immune: Melee: Pierce”, can you get to add the Scatter keyword to the Overrun attack. The Turbo-Charge upgrade gives Wheel Bikes (either this unit or Grievous’ Wheel Bike) a once-per-game 3-speed movement to either get in or get out of a situation.
Expanding Your Army
Given how great (or terrible, if you’re on the receiving end) this unit is, it does paint a large bullseye on them. They’re not really able to hide all that well, and if they are in the open, you can bet they’re going to get attacked. Ideally, these are meant to be another hit-and-run type vehicle, similar to the STAPs, but offering more offensive capability. They’re a counterpoint to the Separatist AAT Battle Tank and appropriate for players looking to add speed to their armor, potentially putting their opponent on their back foot. They’re definitely not glass cannons, but they’re not invincible either. Leaning into their strengths to bolster your troopers is where these bikes will shine.
To the Battlefield!
With my Separatist Alliance Droid Army, I am very excited to have them roll alongside my Wheel Bike Grievous. Because they’re a Special Forces unit, I can add them to my army alongside my BX Droid Commandos or Magnaguards for some variety. I am a big fan of Grievous on his Wheel Bike already, and, even though these are the less-potent versions, the idea of having seven total Wheel Bikes rolling around the map sounds like a lot of chaotic fun!
