Empire Strikes Back. Hoth. AT-AT’s. The moment a harpoon gun brought down one of the massive Walkers in the classic film, I was in love with this particular vehicle in the original trilogy.
Atomic Mass Games sent over one of the T-47 Airspeeder (or as we all call them, Snowspeeders), and I was prepared for a big build. I expected a ton of time spent getting the angles right, gluing it all into place, and boy howdy was I shocked when I opened the box and I had a complete speeder right in front of me!
What’s in the box?

The classic vehicle has been repacked with updates to the cards. All in all, the box contains the miniature, base, flight stand, the unit card, 5 upgrades, and the tokens necessary.
Building the miniature was simple. You attach the airbrakes however you wish (I’m keeping them open for now, but might take them off later), choose between the Harpoon gun and a blaster (but why would you), and attach the forward guns.
What about the cards?
The cards are pretty standard. You get a choice of 5 upgrades, including the Harpoon (which comes with the Tow Cable keyword), which allows the player to perform a pivot move with the vehicle that is wounded. The Ground Buzzer is a laser which does 4 attack dice.
More interesting are the cards that provide status. Comms Jammer and Long Range Comlink either hinder enemies or help you with issuing Orders. And lastly, you can upgrade with Wedge Antilles, which makes the vehicle a Field Commander, and gives them a Pivot ability.
Incorporating this vehicle into your Rebel Alliance army is going to be interesting. I feel like while the tow cable is cool, I don’t know how many vehicles I’ll be facing, but this is a fancy fun ability to have.
I do love the comms jamming ability of the Speeder, which will allow me to mess with my opponent’s orders at a range of one. As a new player to Legion, I’ll probably focus on doing as much damage as possible, so hindering the ability to issue orders is hilarious and I’m all in.
Wrap it up, like a tow cable

At $40, this is a great price for a great model. Cannot wait to dig into painting some wicked damaged colors, and it’ll be fun to get this one out on the table soon!
