Bandai Namco Entertainment has released the Mask of Idris expansion for Code Vein II, alongside a Free Update 2.0 for every player on the base game. The DLC is available to purchase now and is bundled with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions. Code Vein II is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
The Free 2.0 Update adds The Age of Harmony, which expands the post-clear world with new episodes for each partner, and introduces Trials of Remembrance, a run of back-to-back boss battles that reward items redeemable for more than 90 new character customization parts. Jadwiga, previously only playable in her possessed state, can now be summoned as a full partner, wielding a two-handed sword in one hand while using Formae for a fast, aggressive fighting style. The update also drops in a story-focused mode that boosts player stats to smooth out exploration and boss fights, and a Legacy character shader that gives characters an anime-style look reminiscent of the first Code Vein.
Mask of Idris takes place in the Forsaken World, a place stitched together from the converged passions of worlds erased by historical alterations. What should have vanished into the Temporal Rift has instead grown into something that now threatens the world the protagonists are fighting to save. You will reunite with Liv Voda, the sharp-tongued guardian of time and space who sees the protagonist as an intruder, and cross paths with an unfamiliar version of Lou. Progression rewards new weapons, Formae, and Jails with abilities distinct from the base game, and clearing the story unlocks alternate color variations for 14 partner characters, including those introduced in the expansion.

The Free Update includes "The Age of Harmony,” which expands the post-clear world with new episodes for each partner. Players can also take on “Trials of Remembrance,” a series of consecutive boss battles that reward items exchangeable for more than 90 new character customization parts. Jadwiga, previously selectable only in a possessed state, can also now be summoned as a new partner, wielding a two-handed sword in one hand while using Formae to deliver a fast-paced fighting style. Also included in the free update is a new story-focused mode that boosts player stats to ease progression through exploration and boss encounters, as well as a Legacy character shader that gives characters an anime-like appearance reminiscent of the original CODE VEIN.
Developed by Bandai Namco Studios Inc., CODE VEIN II takes players on an epic journey where they wield time as a weapon, traverse through past and present versions of an explorable world and uncover a dramatic battle to save humanity. The Mask of Idris expansion features exploration set in the Forsaken World, a setting forged from the converged passions of worlds that vanished due to historical alterations. Worlds unmade by these alterations become the Temporal Rift, which should naturally disappear, but has instead gathered and expanded into the Forsaken World. Left unchecked, its growth threatens the world the protagonists are fighting to protect.
Players cross paths with Liv Voda once again in the expansion, reconnecting wth the alluring guardian of time and space who possesses a combative personality. As the original guardian of the Temporal Rift, she regards the protagonist as a rogue attempting illegal interference. Players also encounter Lou in the Forsaken World, though not the Lou the protagonist knows. This is an individual who arrived after experiencing a different tragedy, one revealed gradually as the story progresses. Progression through the expansion rewards new weapons, Formae, and Jails with abilities distinct from those found in the main game, and clearing the story unlocks alternate color variations for 14 partner characters, including those introduced in Mask of Idris. The expansion serves as post-game content, requiring players to have reached the “Luna Fraterna” ending of the main narrative of CODE VEIN II as well as completing the sub-mission “Valentin’s request” to begin the new campaign.
CODE VEIN II features distinctive gameplay for an action RPG, where players use blood drained from enemies to unlock a variety of powerful skills, build strategy for combat with Blood codes, and use unique weapons and equipment called Jails to overcome challenging foes and epic bosses. The sequel also introduces the brand-new Partner System, which lets players seamlessly switch between two forms of combat, further elevating player combat into a dynamic action experience. Deep customization system returns for the game’s protagonist, Revenant Hunter, where players can customize their characters to perfection with a vast array of settings for body type, hairstyle, facial expressions, accessories, makeup and more.
