Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition welcomes its first new character of the season, Kage

Today, Capcom released Kage, the first new character for the next season of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. He is the embodiment of “Satsui,” a raging spirit born out of humanity’s obsession for power.

Kage, meaning “shadow,” is the physical embodiment of the evil spirit, “Satsui no Hado,” that could hypothetically overtake Ryu and turn him into the character Evil Ryu. Street Fighter V fans will recall Ryu overcame the “Satsui no Hado” in the General Story against Necalli, and regained control of his former self. “Satsui no Hado” is now back, and instead of overtaking Ryu’s body has now found a way to manifest into its own physical form.

This news comes out of the Capcom Cup, which crowned its victor yesterday evening. In addition to Kage, all 32 characters have received balance changes including new moves for F.A.N.G, Vega, Chun-Li, Abigail, and M. Bison.

Lastly, the Capcom Pro Tour will be returning for its 2019 season at Final Round on March 19th, 2019. But today, the new fighter Kage is available for PlayStation 4 and Steam players for $5.99.
