Xbox Insiders see console UI refresh

Xbox has been hard at work to change things up. With new CEO Asha Sharma taking the helm, team green is looking for ways to tweak the experience, and today's update provided that... at least for Xbox Insiders. The preview update is in full swing, and there's a lot to it. Check out the details below and the Xbox Wire blog to learn more.

Available for Xbox Insiders: New Xbox Console Updates Bring Updated Boot Up, Gamerscore Badges and More - Xbox Wire
Starting today, select Xbox Insiders can begin testing improvements to Achievements that make it easier to celebrate accomplishments and curate how they appear on profiles. New features include a refreshed look for achievement notifications, with updated icons and animations for classic and rare achievements, as well as notifications that match custom colors for a more personal experience. Later this month, Insiders will be able to hide any game from their Achievement history, offering greater control over how their accomplishments are presented, though hidden games will still count toward total Gamerscore and activity reporting. Fully completed games, where all Gamerscore has been earned, will now be highlighted in the achievements list, making it easier to spot and celebrate full completion. Additional filter options have been added to help users find completed games and manage hidden titles. These updates represent the first steps in a broader set of improvements aimed at recognizing completion and milestone moments. Xbox Insiders are encouraged to share feedback on the Xbox Insider subreddit, and those interested in joining the program can download the Xbox Insider Hub for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or Windows PC. Today, Xbox announced that select Xbox Insiders can begin testing the latest Xbox console updates, including the newly introduced boot up experience, refreshed tiered Gamerscore badges, and expanded game library filters. These features – shaped directly by player feedback – will roll out to more Insiders over time, with broader availability coming later.

Highlights include:

  • New Boot Up Experience â€“ A new console boot up experience with a new animation and sound, featuring the new Xbox logo with the signature green players know so well.
  • Earn New Tiered Gamerscore Badges â€“ Earn new tiered badges that reflect a player’s lifetime Gamerscore, giving them a fresh way to showcase their journey on Xbox, which appears on their profile and in the Guide.
  • Understanding Your Game Library at a Glance â€“ New filters make it easy for players to separate owned games from shared titles and identify installed games they no longer have access to.
These updates continue to reflect our ongoing commitment to community feedback and delivering more of the features players have been asking for throughout the year.
