Today, DrinkBox Studios announced that it will release Guacamelee! 2 on August 21 for PlayStation 4 and PC. The game will feature more player abilities as well as a colorful world and all-new story for fans of the co-op Metroidvania game.
Guacamelee! 2 brings former hero Juan Aguacate out of retirement to stop a powerful and ruthless luchador who has emerged as the ruler of a parallel timeline. Juan must once again don his special luchador mask and tights, and fight his way through the worlds of the living and the dead (plus time and space) in an attempt to save his family… and the entire Mexiverse!
Guacamelee! 2 is the sequel to the award-winning, Mexican-themed co-op-multiplayer Metroidvania action game, Guacamelee!. The studio took the time needed after finishing Guacamelee! to change gears with their following title Severed, all the while percolating new ideas for a Guacamelee! 2. Now, DrinkBox has happily returned to their much loved franchise.
DrinkBox has also announced that the game will feature 300% more chickens (something that’s always welcome!) and 99% less memes (which is a travesty and should be rectified!) Read up on our review of the original game, check out the trailer above, and stay tuned for more news here on Gaming Trend.
