We cited the Olight ArkPro Mini Flashlight in our Every Day Carry recommendations earlier this year, recognizing that this is an incredibly powerful flashlight that delivers a shocking 1700 lumens and an eyebrow-raising 14 DAYS of continuous use on a single charge. Since then, Texas has experienced several more "once in a lifetime" power events, and I've doubled down on that recommendation – these are a lifesaver when the very heart of the power grid becomes reliable. Well – it turns out, Olight has more than a few other interesting bits of tech that we've come to discover. Over the weekend they held their annual O-Fan Day celebration, and we find ourselves eyeballing lights, but also a few other interesting tools that might pique your interest.
Oclip 2 Ultra Clip Flashlight
Starting today you'll be able to order their newest iteration of the Oclip – the Oclip 2. The Oclip 2 is an ultra-portable flashlight that can attach to just about anything, thanks to a new dual-axis 360 degree rotating clip, it can snap to webgear, a belt, the side of a computer case, and more. Oh, and by the way – it's also magnetic. Not cool enough? The other big feature (beyond the IP66 level of drop protection, thanks to it's OAL aluminum body) is the new tilting head.
One of the only challenges I have with the ArkPro is that it's firing in only a single direction. Now I can put the Oclip 2 anywhere and angle the light up to 115 degrees, ensuring I can direct the beam just about anywhere I could want. Like the ArkPro, this will set you back a C-note ($94.99 at launch) but due to the versatility alone when working inside computer cases and hard to reach places, it's my new recommendation for every day carry. Oclip Pro S Clip Flashlight
If you are looking for something with a bit more visual flare, but without the tilting functions of its big brother, you might like the new iteration of the Oclip Pro S. At just $39.99, these are now available in 7 new visual styles, from a dayglow orange variant with a white spider on it, to a cool blue and black version they're calling "Sunken Artifact". With 144 hours of runtime, these are surprisingly versatile and robust for their price.
ArkPro Mini Flashlight - new styles
Speaking of the ArkPro, if you wanted to find your flashlight a little easier, or just wanted a cool new spooky bit of artwork, starting today you can nab one of those with some cool new premium artwork and colors. Birhg torange with a flaming skull? Check. OD-Green with an eagle that's also a flag? You bet. Jet black with a mountaineering motif? Tactical Sights and Rail-Mount Lights
If you attached a Picatinny rail to your rifle, you know that it's now your obligation to fill it with enough weight to make using your weapon a workout! Jokes aside, Olight also makes a number of optical solutions and tactical tools that also saw a refresh at their O-Fan celebration. First up is their new PL X GL 3-in-1 Rail-mounted light – no surprise from a company that specializes in lighting solutions. It features the same strong anodized aluminum chassis we see on their other gear, sporting a 1,200 lumen floodlight, a 260-meter throw spotlight, and a Class 3R green laser.
Off the rail, the next refresh came to the Osight SE MOS Direct-Mount Enclosed Emitter Red Dot Sight - a multi-reticle enclosed emitter that'll mount directly to a full size GLOCK MOS slide - no rails needed. Featuring either a 2 MOA dot or a 32 MOA circle reticule, this should give you solid ADS performance out of your weapon, if you're a GLOCK carry type. If you are, you can snap one up here.
If you aren't the GLOCK carry type, you'll be happy to know you've got the same option, albeit ready to mount on a just about any DPP (DeltaPoint Pro) footprint instead. The Olight SE DPP Enclosed Red Dot Sight provides the same performance as the SE MOS Direct-Mount, but for just about any other weapons platform. If your weapons platform has the DPP-cut slide section, this new Osight SE DPP will also ready up without the need for adapter plates or other mounts, keeping your ADS quick and light. The team also showed off their newest multitools in the HX Outdoors GQ-20B, the NexTool Micro, NexTool Adjustable Wrench, NexTool Micro Sailor S11, and NexTool Mini Flagship F12 variants. I also quite liked the OKNIFE U1 Ultra pocket folding knife and think I might just pick one up as my new box cutter as it's past time to sharpen up or replace the knives I've been using for unboxings for years at this point. I'm not going to go over each in detail, but these multitools are an easy pickup for every day carry as they provide the same durability as their flashlight counterparts, but for tools that just might save your bacon. I literally got a medal for swapping out a fuel pump on a vehicle in the middle of a hurricane to evacuate my squadron, using only a multitool, so suffice it to say I'm a bit of a believer in versatile tools.
