Today, Black Tabby Games announced that their game, Slay the Princess, has hit 500,000 copies sold.
We’re beyond thrilled to announce that Slay the Princess has sold over 500,000 copies globally across PC, Mac, Linux, and consoles! It’s been one of the greatest experiences of our lives watching so many of you connect with this passion project, and every step of the way you’ve helped our work exceed even our wildest expectations.
To celebrate this milestone, we’re giving away 500 copies of Slay the Princess as community keys on itch.io. 250 have been released right now, and we’re only telling you, our loyal newsletter openers that they’re there. To claim a key, just scroll down on the store page and click claim key. We’ll be releasing another 250 keys at some point in the next day, and will be letting folks know about that wave on our Discord. So if you missed the first round and aren’t on our server, you might want to join!
As part of this celebration we’re also releasing a brand-new poster — one that lets you hang up ~every~ Princess on your wall at the same time! Available in full and half-size, and at a small discount if you pre-order it. (It’ll also be available after the pre-order period!)
While you’re all here, I’d also like to highlight some of the other cool stuff that’s happened with Slay the Princess following The Pristine Cut.
- The soundtrack won Best Game Music at the World Soundtrack Awards.
- The Pristine Cut has received a 91 on Metacritic including a 9/10 from Gamespot, and a 10/10 from Sports Illustrated.
- We’ve been nominated for best community management at the Indie Game Awards. This one is entirely on all of you – thank you so much!
- We’ve made it to the shortlist for the GWB Game Awards
- Nominated for best new characters for Indie Live Expo.
And hopefully there’ll be even more good news to come as we continue through to the end of the year!
Thank you again, so much! We’ll be back with an update for the first four episodes of Scarlet Hollow early next year! (And then Episode 5 later next year!)
Best,
Abby and Tony
