Today, Supermassive Games launched their newest title, Directive 8020, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. In the game, Earth is dying and sends a small crew to the nearest habitable planet, Tau Ceti f. However, when the crew is struck by a strange meteorite, they realize they are far from alone in the universe...

“With Directive 8020, we’ve taken our signature horror narrative and everything we love about cinematic storytelling, pushing it all into new territory,” said Will Doyle, Creative Director at Supermassive Games. “We’re incredibly proud of what the team has accomplished, and bringing our storytelling into a sci-fi setting for the first time has been a hugely exciting step. The team has worked hard to refine every part of the experience, so we can’t wait for players to finally get their hands on it.”

While the game has a lot of flaws, I really enjoyed it! It feels like Supermassive's return to form in a way, rethinking their tropes and gameplay mechanics seriously.
