New Switch 2 intel releases for Modern Warfare 4

Pre-orders start today, along with beta pre-loading for week two

New Switch 2 intel releases for Modern Warfare 4

I never thought I'd play Call of Duty on the Switch 2, but there's a first time for everything. Modern Warfare 4 begins Activision's foray onto the Nintendo Switch, as the franchise has skipped Nintendo's platform since Black Ops 2. Considering Black Ops 7 released last year, that tells you how long it's been. Below is new information on the upcoming version, and remember that any Switch 2 user can give it a try this weekend during the open beta.

Switch 2 players can drop into the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta this weekend, August 28 through September 1, marking the first Call of Duty Open Beta ever on the platform. Beyond Multiplayer's broad selection of maps, modes, and weapons, players can try the Campaign mission "Entrenched" and Call of Duty: Warzone Resurgence on the new Zodiac map, with support for Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, gyro controls, Pro Controller, HDR, handheld play, and cross-play/cross-progression with other platforms. Players can pre-load the beta starting now.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 to Nintendo Switch 2,” said Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Publisher and Developer Relations. “Call of Duty has brought players together through intense multiplayer competition and blockbuster storytelling for years, and we’re excited for Nintendo fans to jump into Modern Warfare 4 on Nintendo Switch 2. Beginning with the Open Beta, players can experience the action wherever they choose to play.”

"For the first time in more than a decade, Call of Duty is back on a Nintendo platform, and we’re incredibly proud that Digital Legends has partnered with Infinity Ward to make it happen with Modern Warfare 4, said Xavier Carrillo-Costa, studio head, Digital Legends. "Our goal has been simple from day one: deliver the genuine Call of Duty experience on Nintendo Switch 2. Players can enjoy the full intensity, authenticity, and quality of Modern Warfare 4 wherever they are, whether at home or on the move.
