Battle the alien invasion with Earth Defense Force 5 this December

Today at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, D3 Publisher announced that it will release the upcoming action game Earth Defense Force 5 on December 11 for PlayStation 4. The game is currently available for pre-order digitally through the PlayStation store in standard and deluxe editions, and the company has released a new gameplay trailer that highlights some of the mechanics of the game.

Earth Defense Force 5 finds players taking up arms to defend Earth against a hostile alien invasion. In addition to hordes of alien insect invaders the series is famous for, the next installment in the fan favorite franchise also introduces a series-first with new humanoid aliens from the mysterious planet, Primer. Join the elite ranks of the EDF for an all-out war to protect peace on Earth — and overcome the depths of despair of a world under siege with wisdom, courage, and fellow comrades.
