Nano, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Eko Eko Azarak, and more!

We're back to recap a great week of Comics & Manga we read here at GamingTrend.com last week!

We have three comics to showcase this week: one from Dark Horse Comics, one from Marvel Comics, and one from Titan Manga!

Nano - Issue #1

Sana and Lukas are super-spy secret operatives for The Order, they've been striking at Nanocorp and their facilities with targeting strikes at their infrastructure. They're wildly successful until they're sent on a new mission undercover inside of Nanocorp itself.

Things become more complex as Lukas is the only one allowed IN the labs while Sana is left undercover as a school-teacher on the outside.

If you like spy action-thrillers, Nano is a lot of fun so far! Art harkens back to the 70's and 80's with a fun look at nano-tech and how gender plays into the day to day lives of spies.

Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day - Issue #3

Honestly, can Peter's job get any harder? Not only are 98% of the police against him, he's now having to fight a Negative Punisher? Alone and without Web-Fluid, Spider-Man has to survive while trying to save innocents and protect the object of Mr. Negative's desire. All while keeping May and his friends safe.

This story weaves a lot of different aspects of Spider-Man into one arc. If you're a fan of the comics, movies, games, etc. you'll find something recognizable and enjoyable. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

Eko Eko Azarak: Reborn - Vol. 1

If you call it justice, vengeance, or vigilantism; Misa handles problems at their roots with all the power her abilities give her. From protecting innocents from their abusive parents, to teaching those who manipulate a lesson; Misa takes her job seriously and knows what she's doing in almost every situation.

This is a dark and gritty set of stories, some with interwoven story-telling, others stand-alone with specific ties to other stories (such as similar ability usage). There are definitely more than a few trigger warnings before reading this one, but the story is simply so fascinating and I want to know more about Misa and her history.

What If…? Spider-Man - Issue #1 review

What If…? Spider-Man #1 brings J.M. DeMatteis back to tackle the formidable challenge of retelling his legendary 1987 story “Kraven’s Last Hunt” with a twist that changes the story drastically.

While not as strong as the original tale, the altered story succeeds in its right, building off of the original to create something interesting and fun.
