Kingdom of Earth, Midnight X-Men, Resident Evil, and more!

We're back to recap a great couple weeks of Comics & Manga we read here at GamingTrend.com!

We have a fun selection to showcase this week: featuring Dark Horse Comics, Marvel Comics, Titan Manga!

Keep an eye out for a preview of the comics we're covering this week!

Kingdom of Earth - Issue #3

The art is absolutely stunning in this cryptid-full adventure. A what-if set in Chicago. I truly enjoyed the first two, so when the third came out, it was a must-cover. It did not hold back either, as the first scene alone was scary and world-expanding.

The question becomes, will Virago truly find his place in a new world where he might fit in now physically, but not morally. Meanwhile, the shades, werewolves, zombies, and more struggle to figure out how to live in a post-human-ran world.

Kingdom of Earth #3 :: Profile :: Dark Horse Comics

Fear grows in Chicago as the powerful Dark Watcher Orpheus continues her mission to root out the human resistance. Virago begins to question his place in this world as he is forced into a double life—murderer and protector. And a resourceful Frankie braves the Northern Territory on their own.Four-issue series.

Midnight X-Men - Issue #1

Marvel has begun their Midnight run and I couldn't have been more pumped for launch. While our Editor, Tim Jenkins, will be covering Midnight Spider-Man, I covered Midnight X-Men. It was quite a ride. Quickly we have been shown the vibe of this series. Grit, grime, and all-new X-Men vibes.

Nothing can prepare you fully for how some of our heroes (and villains) have turned out during this post-vampire age. With Mutant Vampires (Empyres) vs vampires vs Mutants vs the church... anything can happen in a world of darkness.

Resident Evil: Death Island - Vol. 1

Based on the anime of the same name, Death Island brings some of our favorite Resident Evil characters from the games into one location to fight a threat unlike any we've seen before.

I enjoyed the art style in every aspect. The angles, combat moments, detail work; everything hit exactly how I had hoped going into a Resident Evil manga. Especially not having seen the anime first. As a long-time fan of the series, this felt like a fun nostalgic ride!

Empiria - Issue #1-#3 review

Set in a “modern times” fantasy world in which tensions are quickly rising, Empiria offers a fun new take on the fantasy genre that promises to be an exciting ride for hardcore fantasy lovers and casual readers alike.

With three compelling storylines and the added option to immerse yourself into the world through a built-in TTRPG, there is a lot to love about it.
