Not everyone in Night City is fighting for control of territory, chemicals, or honor. Some people just want to live and work their regular 9-to-5 job, go home, and then veg out in front of the tube. However, unless they’re living high up in the skyscrapers, they may find that their living room or food shack is actually right in the middle of a battleground!
In addition to their popular miniature games Cyberpunk Red: Combat Zone and Borderlands: Mister Torgue's Arena, Monster Fight Club (MFC) also has a deep catalogue of agnostic scenery to be used with your favorite miniature game. Ranging from snowy mountains to lush forests, including smaller elements like animals and scatter terrain, MFC has a wide selection of pre-painted and unpainted terrain. Generic and universal, these terrain pieces fit into pretty much any universe, including Warhammer, Star Wars: Legion, Warmachine, Battletech, Bolt Action, and the list goes on.
Monster Fight Club sent us some of their scenery recently, including their Hab Unit Containers, which are perfect for use in Cyberpunk Red: Combat Zone. Let’s unbox them!
Unboxing the Hab Unit Containers
The box includes five gray plastic and unassembled unique containers/hab units, all the same dimensions. For those looking to decorate their containers, there is a sheet of sticker decals as well, including some standard icons, labels, and even graffiti.
There are several different wall options within the kit, so you can mix and match what walls go together. Some of the walls, like the food stall, look like they belong together, but you can really customize them however you want. You also get a selection of doors that open, which you can also arrange to your liking.
Building the Hab Unit Containers
One of the best features of the containers is that you don’t need glue to assemble them. Their snap-fit nature allows them to be quickly and easily assembled so that they are instantly ready for the table.
The clips and slots are pretty straightforward to use when building. Just make sure that you put the doors in first and that the 90-degree corner parts are at the bottom. These crates are stackable, and that part is what fits into the top of each container.
I first started by attaching the doors to their corresponding walls, which was going to be easier to do than waiting until after the walls were set up. I then shuffled the pieces around to create the combinations for the containers I wanted. Some side doors/walls can be used on either side, so I wanted to make sure that windows and doors lined up and made sense for what a food stall or living quarters would look like. A few of the pieces had some extra manufacturing parts attached to them. I cleaned them up, which allowed them to be assembled easier.
And… that’s it! I built all five containers in like 15 minutes. The doors open and close, and as is, they look fantastic on the table.
Customizing the Hab Unit Containers
Outside of using the sticker decals, another option is to paint them up. They’re pretty flat on the table, and since I plan on using them for Cyberpunk, I want to give them that grungy, well-worn look they would have for sitting forgotten in some sub-level of Night City.

These easy-to-build and gamer-friendly terrain pieces are great for any tabletop miniature game player. There is a surprising amount of detail on all of them, and so you can really get them to stand out on your gaming table!
