Warlord Games periodically releases Mystery Boxes on their site. Sold for $200 USD, the claim is that the box contains at least $320 USD in product for a specific game. With the recent launch of their latest edition of Konflikt ‘47, they offered up a Konflikt ‘47-themed Mystery Box, while supplies lasted, of course.

Here is their official product description:
“We know you love Konflikt '47... we know you love Mystery Boxes... so there's only one logical conclusion: Konflikt '47 Mystery Boxes!
Packed with amazing value, each box contains a selection of miniatures and gaming accessories for a single faction, and represents a huge saving over buying the contents individually - each box contains at least $320 worth of models and accessories. Of course, you won't know which faction you've got until you open the box - but that's where the mystery lies! Some lucky recipients will also find the mighty Molot walker or Humber MkVII armoured cars (which have just gone on pre-order!) amongst their selection.
Mystery Boxes are always incredibly popular, so these will be available for two weeks only. Don't miss out!”
So, the looming question is… are they actually worth it?
Konflikt ‘47
Konflikt '47 is the tabletop wargame of heroes, horrors, monsters, and mechs, putting you in command of the nightmarish struggle for supremacy as the old world is torn apart and remade in blood and crackling energy.

It’s a weird-war continuation of their Bolt Action World War 2 miniatures game, where World War 2 never ended. If you like Wolfenstein and/or World War 2 and/or BattleTech and/or Captain America fighting Hydra, then this is the perfect game for you to get into!
We’re hoping that this Mystery Box is a sort of jump-start into the game, and offers something beyond one of the starter sets.
Konflikt ‘47 Mystery Box Contents
The box arrived in a nondescript cardboard box (shipping label hidden from the pictures, of course.) If you don’t want your significant other to know that you have a miniatures addiction, then this is perfect!

So which random faction did we get… The United States!

MSRP of $44.00

Firefly Airborne Infantry
MSRP of $59.00

M4A9-T Sherman with Tesla Cannon

M8 Grizzly Medium Assault Walker

Total Value - $324 USD
Is a Warlord Games Mystery Box Worth It?
It’s definitely valued at well above $200 USD, and they stayed true to their claim that it’s at least $320 worth of product. For the United States army, these are truly some fantastic models (seriously, the mechs are awesome). A pleasant surprise was the terrain. Even though it’s not a model for the army, it’s always good to have thematic terrain for your game table, and Warlord Games has some pretty wonderful terrain.
By comparison, this box is similar to the original starter box, only it has more armor than infantry. Excluding the rulebook, dice, and pin markers, the Mystery Box is a nearly comparable "starter box" for someone wanting to begin building an army for that faction.

The original 1st Edition Konflikt '47 US Army Starter
The downside, of course, is that you don’t know what faction you’re getting, so you can either end up with a faction you don’t want or a bunch of duplicate models you’re not going to build. There is always the opportunity to trade/sell them to your local gaming community, but that may not be an option for you.
For me, since I have some US troops already, this is an excellent way to add some mechs (a lance, perhaps?) to my army. Having more Firefly troopers is never a bad thing, and the terrain is going to be a nice little accent to the gaming table.
Konflikt '47 Mystery Box
Excellent
This bundle is a great deal if you can grab it, especially if you have considered getting into one of their games but haven’t decided on a faction. Warlord Games models aren’t cheap, and so getting $120+ USD in product is a fantastic deal.
Pros
- You get way more than $200 USD in product.
- A diverse selection of models
- A great way to add more miniatures to an army at a discount
Cons
- There is no way to know or choose what faction you’re going to get.
