Warhammer Skulls drops the motherload of content during show

Warhammer is in like… everything. That continues with all the announcements that just came through Warhammer Skulls, the annual show thrown to give you all the sweet details of what’s next. We’ve got the full recap of the show, and you can watch it above if you want to see everything first hand.

Nottingham, UK – 23rd May, 2024 – The Warhammer Skulls showcase returned today, revealing a host of world premieres, updates and announcements for every Warhammer video game fan to delve into.

Hosted by Rahul Kohli (The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, Death and Other Details), the eighth annual showcase premiered and announced globally that a sequel is coming for fan favourite Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus with a thrilling new CGI trailer, as well as the future arrival of Talisman 5th Digital Edition, coinciding with the latest edition of the physical board game.

Also in the gripping line-up of reveals: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 gets not one, but TWO, exciting trailers revealing brand new PVP and PVE modes as well digital pre-orders going live on PC and console; meanwhile, a brand new DLC Forges of Corruption, featuring new levels, weapons plus a free Horde Mode, for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun was announced for June 18th; Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader announced their first ever DLC, Void Shadows, will be releasing on August 8th; and previous Warhammer Skulls world premiere Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks reveals its release window and launches a playable beta demo now on Steam during Skulls.

And if that wasn’t enough, Blood Bowl 3 revealed the brand new Necromantic Horror faction as part of the new season 5, which arrives alongside cross-platform play June 11th; a Demolition Pack DLC with 11 new units has launched for 4X Warhammer 40,000: Gladius; and finally, nine Warhammer video games will be part of the Free Play Days over on Xbox from May 23rd to May 26th as part of Warhammer Skulls, including last year’s world premiere Realms of Ruin plus Vermintide 2. ​

Also announced during the showcase:

  • Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector – The next faction, the Astra Militarum, was announced during the showcase, as free units launch as part of Warhammer Skulls
  • Warhammer: Vermintide 2 – A Skulls Throne event and rewards have gone live for Warhammer Skulls, alongside a major QoL game update for Winds of Magic. On May 30th, the next alpha will be available for the new Vermintide Versus PVP mode!
  • Warhammer 40,000: Darktide – A new teaser was revealed for the new free update, Secrets of the Machine God, including a first look at its brand-new level – coming June 25.
  • Total War: Warhammer III – A trailer for the new free legendary hero Karanak was shown during the showcase, coming soon.
  • Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus – The new Machines of Wars expansion was announced and confirmed for June, bringing large units such as tanks and dreadnoughts to the hit mobile game for the first time!
  • Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge – A new faction, the Adepta Sororitas showcased and launched for Warhammer Skulls, alongside a teaser for future new content
  • Horus Heresy: Legions – The new Inferno Expansion has been released, including Leman Russ and the Space Wolves legion
  • World of Tanks: Modern Armour – The mighty Rogal Dorn battle tank is added to the console game
