ESSEN, GERMANY - SPIEL ESSEN 2026

The Army Painter today announced a new partnership with Dungeons & Dragons®, bringing together the world’s greatest roleplaying game and a leading miniature-painting brand to help more players discover the hobby.

Supported by Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, the partnership connects D&D’s worlds, characters and stories with the creative experience of painting miniatures.
At its centre is the Forgotten Pigments Collection - paints, sets, and accessories featuring unique colors developed specifically for Dungeons & Dragons, inspired by its iconic artwork, books, manuals, characters, creatures, and worlds. Designed for players, game masters, and live-play fans alike, the collection will give fans new ways to express their own characters, creatures, and encounters on the tabletop.

The partnership is being announced at SPIEL Essen ahead of the full product reveal. Further details will be shared with distribution and media partners in the months ahead.

A NEW CREATIVE DIMENSION

Dungeons & Dragons has inspired generations of players to create characters, explore worlds, and tell stories together. The Army Painter’s partnership with D&D expands that creative experience, connecting the stories players imagine, the characters they play, and the miniatures they place on the table.
For many players, miniature painting will be a new part of the hobby.

The Army Painter was founded to make painting easier and more accessible. Through this partnership, that philosophy will help first-time painters turn their miniatures into something uniquely their own.

Adam Abramowicz, Brand Commander at The Army Painter, said, “One of our greatest joys as fellow gamers is showing how simple and fun miniature painting is. Players know exactly what their D&D character looks like in their imagination, but many have never picked up a paintbrush. We want to change that. With Forgotten Pigments, we will prove that painting your miniature doesn’t just add colour to the table. It brings your Dungeons & Dragons characters, monsters, and story to life.”

ENTER THE D&D PAINT ACADEMY

Supporting Forgotten Pigments is the new D&D Paint Academy - an educational platform designed to guide players from their first brushstroke to more advanced techniques.

Players will have access to approachable, technique-based, encounter-based, and class- based tutorials, creating clear paths into miniature painting through the D&D experiences they already know and love. Beginners are welcome and encouraged.

The Army Painter will also partner with Blackwater DnD to introduce miniature painting to live-play and core D&D audiences. Members of The Army Painter’s Factory Team - experienced painters and passionate D&D players - will help educate, inspire and welcome new painters into the hobby.'

D&D Paint Academy sign-ups are available now at thearmypainter.com, offering early access to information, education and future Forgotten Pigments reveals.

THE ADVENTURE IS JUST BEGINNING.
More information about the Forgotten Pigments Collection, D&D Paint Academy, and more will be revealed in the months ahead.
