Today, GENTLE LOVE and Scarlet Moon Records released Prescription for Sleep: Ocarina of Time. Performed by GENTLE LOVE, comprised of Norihiko Hibono (Metal Gear Solid composer) on the sax and AYAKI (Etrian Odyssey/Streets of Rage performer) on piano, this album reimagines Koji Kondo's score into 11 arrangements and an original composition inspired by the 1998 adventure. The album is available on al digital storefronts and streaming platforms right here.
This is the 16th album in the Perscription for Sleep series, and marks its twelfth anniversary, though this is the first album solely dedicated to The Legend of Zelda franchise. Here's the track list:
1. Title Theme
2. Kokiri Forest
3. Battle
4. Hyrule Field Main Theme
5. Zelda's Lullaby
6. Lon Lon Ranch ~ Epona
7. Kakariko Village
8. Lost Woods
9. Great Fairy's Fountain
10. Temple of Time
11. Requiem of Spirit
12. Remembrance (Original)
The final track is a melancholy original composition to close out the album.
"Ocarina of Time is one of those games whose music transcends the game itself," reflects Scarlet Moon's Jayson Napolitano. "I've been wanting to do a dedicated Zelda album since we launched the series, and it was really a question of which game. Ocarina of Time felt like the obvious choice — it's the game that introduced so many people to orchestral game music, and Koji Kondo's melodies are so beautifully suited to what GENTLE LOVE does. Hearing 'Zelda's Lullaby' and 'Temple of Time' rendered in this style felt like a dream come true. Here's to twelve years of the series, and we hope this is the album fans have been waiting for!"
