Today, NACON announced the launch of the R8SPECTRE PRO HS dual-wireless gaming headset, officially licensed by PlayStation. This headset combines studio-grade sound with dual-wireless audio mixing.
“The R8 PRO HS is the technical evolution of one of our most celebrated headsets – the 800 PRO,” explained Michael Jessup, Head of Audio Product. “With the return of the iconic base station and the addition of graphene drivers plus dual-wireless audio, the R8 PRO HS delivers ultra-low latency performance, enhanced acoustic precision, and the convenience competitive players demand.”
The R8 PRO HS brings RIG’s latest audio technology to gamers on PlayStation®5 consoles, with custom-built graphene drivers tuned for competitive shooters. Coated with graphene, R8 PRO HS drivers are lighter and more rigid than traditional drivers, resulting in piston-like movement that eliminates virtually all distortion. This advanced architecture delivers clarity, precise detail, and enhanced spatial accuracy, giving players reliable directional awareness in the most demanding competitive environments.
The R8 PRO HS also introduces new wireless features to enhance the player’s gaming experience. Dual 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth audio mixing lets gamers connect the R8 PRO HS to their PlayStation®5 console via the included 2.4 GHz USB-C adapter and to a mobile phone, so they can answer calls and receive notifications while gaming. Additional USB-C transmitters will also be available for purchase, allowing seamless platform switching across up to four gaming devices, such as a PC and PlayStation®5 console or multiple PlayStation®5 consoles, at the push of a button.
Users can customize their audio experience further with the RIG Navigator app. Pairing the R8 PRO HS with compatible iOS or Android devices allows users to adjust EQ, mic monitoring, mic gain, and other audio settings to suit their preferences. Gamers can also create and save custom profiles for different games, allowing for a fully personalized experience across different titles.
With over 60 hours of battery life, the R8 PRO HS is built to support extended play without interruption. The dedicated base station keeps the headset charged and stored between matches, ensuring it’s always powered and ready to go when it matters most.
For players seeking a personalized experience, the R8 PRO HS features the proprietary RIG SNAP+LOCK mod system. Using magnetic connections, the headset features user-swappable earcup ‘Mod-Plates’ and ear cushions. To celebrate the launch, limited-edition ‘AAA’ Mod-Plates will be available for purchase at launch at shopnacon.us.
An Xbox version of the headset is also available, with both being prices at $179.99 USD. For ore on all things NACON, stay tuned to GamingTrend.
