Today, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIV is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 this August. This version will have an early access period of about a month, during which no subscription fees will be collected, then launch properly.
Unfortunately, the Switch 2 version will also require an additional subscription, though an subscription to Nintendo Switch Online is not required. Having a subscription on another platform also means you'll get 50% off of the Switch 2 subscription. Players only playing on Switch 2 will only need the Switch 2 specific subscription.
