2nd Law Games has TWO new projects coming!

A Self-Simulated-inspired pinball game and a dice game

2nd Law Games has TWO new projects coming!

We're big fans of 2nd Law Games over here, and the team of Martin Gauer has more coming. Announced over the last few months, 2nd Law Games has a Kickstarter in the works for a pinball game: Self Simulated: Pinball Anomaly, which resembles his other release, Self-Simulated. Besides that, he's even working on a dice game called Tavern Farkle GB! It's really cool to see these retro ideas come to life, so check out the details below, along with our interview with Martin from last year.

Self Simulated: Pinball Anomaly

Self Simulated: Pinball Anomaly on Steam
Self Simulated: Pinball Anomaly is a new Pinball game for the Game Boy Color where you flip, super-nudge and fight your way through waves of enemy robots trying to rescue Self from a corrupted digital simulation.
2nd Law Games announces Self Simulated: Pinball Anomaly — a custom-engine pinball game for the Game Boy Color, spinning off the platformer Self Simulated.

Development started in early 2026. Release date TBD.

The corrupted AI M-Iss1-NgN-0 has trapped Self — the robotic protagonist of the original Self Simulated — inside a glitching digital simulation. Your only weapon: the flippers.

Inspired by classics like Devil's Crush, Pokémon Pinball, Medieval Madness, and Super Robot Pinball, Self Simulated: Pinball Anomaly is a fully-featured pinball experience built from scratch with a custom engine inside GB Studio — and compressed into the iconic Game Boy Color screen.

Fight waves of enemy robots, face down bosses, and keep chasing that perfect highscore — one ball at a time.

Tavern Farkle GB

Tavern Farkle GB on Steam
Tavern Farkle GB is a push-your-luck dice game for the Game Boy. Roll six dice, bank your points or risk it all. Play a quick match against a random villager, or take on six opponents in a row, ending with Lucifer himself and his wild Devil’s Die.
Tavern Farkle GB brings the old dice game to the Game Boy. Roll six dice, set aside what scores, and decide: bank thy points and walk away safe, or push thy luck for one more roll. A single match takes minutes, which makes it dangerously easy to just play one more.

Three ways to play. In Quick Match, pick a goal and face a random villager, a Peasant, Baker, Miller, Smith, or Knight, each with a playstyle that changes from match to match. In the Devil's Dice Tournament, thou'lt face six opponents in a row, Baldric the wily bard, Gertrude the grim-gambler, Martin McPie, Henry the sword seeker, Brunhild the dice valkyrie, and finally Lucifer himself, each carrying their own Devil's Die to swing a roll their way. Lose once, and the tournament starts anew. In 2 Player Match you can play against your friends on the same device.

Defeat an opponent and claim their dice set as thine own. Collect them all and pick the set that suits thy luck before each match.

Made solo, built with GB Studio, and kept close to what a dice game on a Game Boy should feel like.
