Why Mass Effect 5 will fail even if EA resumes active development

The recent news about EA closing Bioware down has caused an uproar within the video game community. Not long after the news, fans took to change.org, and whipped up a petition for the continued development of Mass Effect 5 by EA. At present, this petition has garnered almost three hundred thousand signees, including the backing of both Commander Shepherd voice actors. However, despite the considerable passion and support for this acclaimed franchise, EA isn’t likely to bend to fan demands. However, if it ultimately does, the next game will not surpass Mass Effect 2, and could be controversial and panned by the fans responsible for resurrecting it.
