The Sims 4 released the Basement Treasures and the Greenhouse Haven Kits on April 20th, and as many of you know I love these affordable content drops. In fact, most of my recent favorite content from The Sims 4 has been the smaller Stuff and Kit packs. These two new Kits pack a big punch, and bring some really fabulous content to allow you to customize your games to fit your Sims lifestyles.

I have always loved gardening in all of the Sims games and was quite excited to check out the Greenhouse Haven Kit. This Kit meshes wonderfully with the Blooming Rooms Kit (which I reviewed in 2021) and gives you more options to play with the items from that Kit. Now you can build quaint greenhouses and fill them with tons of cute stuff from both packs! In fact I even used some items from the Romantic Garden Stuff Pack, and the Courtyard Oasis Kit to make a really wonderful outdoor greenhouse area.

So many intricate and detailed additions with the Greenhouse Haven Kit! It goes perfectly with previous Kits.

I readily admit I suck at building, I usually download houses from the Gallery, and even though I don’t use custom content, I usually get by with the basics. I tried my hand at making my own greenhouse for this review and even though it’s literally just a box, I still think it came out great and I had a blast decorating it.

I won’t win any architectural contests but I did have fun building my very own greenhouse!

I chose to place it on my Henford-on Bagley map, and it really fits in perfectly with the vibe I have going on there and reminded me how much I loved that map and the Cottage Living content. I added in a nice, relaxing fountain and even some fireflies for ambiance, and I think the whole look came out great.

This is my new favorite space in any of my saves! I love the bright cheery vibe in the greenhouse!

The Greenhouse Haven Kit lets you add lots of special touches, from spray bottles, to seedling starter kits, and even includes lighting and fans to keep your greenhouse at the right temperature. You can add glass windows that look cracked open on top for a homey look. I seriously LOVE this Kit and had a blast building my little gardening haven.

The Basement Treasure’s Kit added in a lot of vintage items you might have found in your grandparents house. An old box TV, a ruined couch, and a disassembled heart-shaped bed (please devs, don’t tease us…bring it back) are just some of the oldies you’ll find in this Kit. Most of these items are niche, but I would love to play around with them on the Paranormal save I have, as I think they’d fit in great with my haunted house.

Who’s ready to watch Archie Bunker’s Place?!

To test out these items, I used my Disney Princess Challenge save and pretended that Prince Charming’s grandma just died and he moved all her old stuff into the castle to go through. Actually, I couldn’t figure out how the heck to build a basement to decorate, so I just dumped all the items off in the castle to look over for the review. I told you I sucked at building!

One cool thing to note is that the disassembled heart-shaped bed gives off an emotional mood aura that gives your Sims a romantic moodlet. I’ll need more time to rearrange my Paranormal house to really get a feel for how these items can play into a cool build, but it’s neat to see different stuff in the game.

Bring back the fully assembled heart-shaped bed please!

You can’t go wrong with most of the smaller content drops The Sims 4 have put out in recent years. At just $4.99 each, the Basement Treasures and Greenhouse Haven Kits are totally worth the money. I really enjoyed challenging myself to build my Sims a greenhouse, and am thinking about adding in a rocking chair to do some knitting while taking a break from caring for my plants.

The Sims 4 Basement Treasure Kit

Excellent

The Sims 4 Basement Treasures and Greenhouse Haven Kits bring dozens of content pieces that mesh really well with previous Kits such as Blooming Rooms, Courtyard Oasis, and even Romantic Garden Stuff. The Basement Treasures Kit would blend perfectly with the Paranormal Stuff Pack, and I intend to play around with my saved game to do some more decorating. I really enjoyed both Kits, and for only $4.99 each just go ahead and pick them up!
