Persona 4 Revival
After Persona 3 Reload, you pretty much know what to expect for Persona 4 Revival. It’s not a drastic overhaul of the beloved title, keeping the same story beats and overall gameplay the same but getting it all up to par with Persona 5. That doesn’t make me any less excited for the game, as sometimes you just want to get away to Inaba; goodness knows the town could use some love. I recently attended a SEGA event where I got to play about two hours of the game split into three sections, and love was the operative word here in every sense.
Stranger Than Heaven
I’m sure you’ve heard the descriptions of Stranger than Heaven’s combat from the trailers and such: “It’s so unique! You control both Makoto’s left and right sides independently!” My first thought upon hearing that was to equate it to Dark Souls. Right bumper and trigger for whatever’s in your right hand, and left bumper and trigger for whatever’s in your left hand. I’m here today to tell you to throw that comparison right in the trash because it’s dead wrong. It really is as unique as they say it is, and the oddball control scheme gives me a feeling I haven’t had in ages when playing a new AAA game: novelty.

Alien: Isolation 2
Alien Isolation 2 is a game I personally will be staying far, far away from, but one I can also tell fans of the first game are going to love. It is a tense escalation of everything present in the original title, complete with the analogue sci-fi aesthetic and evil corporations.
Metaphor: ReFantazio and Shinobi: Art of Vengeance on Switch 2
Having played through the game on PC at a gorgeous 4k and 120 fps, I could tell the Switch 2 version was a downgrade, but not a massive one. Textures weren’t as clean, but if I’m honest, that only added to the game’s visual style with something of a painterly effect on characters. Other than that, it feels on par with other versions of the game. I can’t wait to get sucked into the Crown Contest once more this November.
Sonic Pico Park
I’ve never played Pico Park, but slap Sonic on something, and I’ll be interested. At a recent SEGA event in LA, I only got to play Sonic Pico Park for a few minutes with some kind folks running the event, but it was a lot of fun! If you’re unfamiliar with Pico Park, it’s essentially a co-op puzzle platformer where you need to get your entire team to the end of the stage. Sonic Pico Park adds some Sonic flavor on top of that, both visually and mechanically.
