A lot of us growing up in the United States grew up with a local college who played American football. It was a cultural touchstone for most of the friends I have, and everyone had a reason for being a fan. If it’s their parents Alma Mater, they loved the colors as a kid, or they live right by a stadium/school.
I grew up a University of Tennessee football fan because of my grandfather. While he didn’t attend Tennessee, he bled Orange and White. I always remember how animated he would get as the band would start to play on TV and the team would run out led by Smokey, our mascot. It was always special watching games with him, which made my love for Tennessee football always there even when I went to another school for college.
Since so many of us have teams we love, it became a competition mostly won by Alabama in my lifetime. I remember having debates on where the toughest place to play in college football was, and of course, I always fought hard for Neyland. Well, our friends at EA Sports put together the official list of the toughest places to play in College Football 25!
