ModRetro adds adorable platformer to the Chromatic ecosystem

ModRetro is already doing us a favor with it’s incredible reimagining of the GameBoy that’s compatible with your old games, but I love how they’re taking it a step further. They’ve added brand new titles to their library, actual cartridges that you’ll use with your ModRetro Chromatic! Today, a new game has entered the library, and adorable 2D platformer named Hermano. Hermano, the standout title of the 2023 GB Compo game jam and a runaway success on Kickstarter, is now available for pre-order on the ModRetro website for $39.99. 

Immerse yourself in a hauntingly beautiful journey steeped in cultural legends, where Hermano (“brother”) weaves the tale of Nano, as he battles through the underworld to save his brother Mano from the depths of Hell. Abducted while paying respects on the Day of the Dead, Mano’s fate hangs in the balance. Players will guide Nano through eerie realms filled with relentless ghouls, ghosts, and demons, unlocking the gates to deeper, more treacherous infernos on a quest to reunite with his beloved hermano.
