Danganronpa 2x2 made an appearance in today's Nintendo Direct, with an Introduction Trailer posted shortly after. We got glimpses of the revamped visuals, scenes from the new Slayhem Mode, and a brand-new character. After months of anticipation, we finally have a release date of January 14, 2027. The game will launch on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S (digital only), Steam, and Epic Games Store.

Spike Chunsoft, Inc. today announced the high-speed deductive action game Danganronpa 2x2 is scheduled for release in North America and Europe on January 14, 2027, for Nintendo Switchâ„¢2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam® and Epic Games Store. The company also released a new trailer featuring the game's new Slayhem Mode.

Slayhem Mode
Danganronpa 2x2 lets players experience Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair in two different modes. Players can choose between the revamped scenario in "Original" mode, which retells the story from the 2012 release with enhanced visuals and updated presentation for modern game systems, and "Slayhem" mode which features a new scenario based on Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, but completely different storyline. Both options are available from the start of the game.
