Critically acclaimed action-RPG Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is now available, launch trailer released

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is now available and to celebrate, KOEI TECMO America and Team NINJA have released a new launch trailer, which can be viewed above. In case you missed our review, we LOVED Wo Long, stating, “Wo Long: Fall Dynasty is a near flawless game and what I hope is just an intro to this fantastic world. Team Ninja have crafted a game that takes the basic structure of Nioh and other Souls-likes and creates their own unique, rewarding, and brutally challenging experience. In its almost forty hour campaign I was constantly surprised by the amount of new locations, creative boss fights, and sheer ambition of the game. It may be early in the year, but I’d be surprised if any game beats Wo Long for the top of my year-end list.” You can read more about Wo Long below:

BURLINGAME, Calif. — March 3, 2023 — Today, KOEI TECMO America and developer Team NINJA challenge gamers to save a demon-infested Three Kingdoms from its twisted fate in the action-packed dark fantasy, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, on PC via Windows and Steam®, and across Xbox Game Pass on both console and PC.

Set in 184 AD, during the Later Han Dynasty, Wo Long features a land overcome by chaos and destruction. With an imperial dynasty on the verge of collapse, it’s up to a nameless militia solder to overcome adversity while fighting for survival in the turbulence of a Three Kingdoms plagued by demons and overrun by some of history’s most powerful and intimidating warriors, including Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Jian. To overcome the odds, players will need to awaken their inner strength by mastering the fluid swordplay of the Chinese martial arts, cast Wizardry spells based on the Five Phases (elements), and even summon Divine Beasts when things appear most bleak.

As someone who has been fascinated by the ‘Romance of the Three Kingdoms’ depicted in manga and movies since I was a child, I was thrilled to be able to fulfill my dream of creating a game about the Three Kingdoms period,” said Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Producer, Fumihiko Yasuda. “It is our hope that you will enjoy the intensity that is distinctive of Team NINJA games, as you utilize various strategies to challenge the powerful warriors and vicious demons that stand in your way.”

Added Development Producer Masaaki Yamagiwa “We received a great deal of feedback from those who played the trial version of the game, and we have done our utmost to exceed their expectations. We hope that you will enjoy the exhilarating atmosphere of this Team NINJA creation, the challenge of confronting threats, and the joy that is sure to follow.”

In celebration of the game’s launch, KOEI TECMO released the “Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Original Sound Track” across various music platforms. This contains all 53 songs from the game in their entirety, including numerous masterpieces by Kenichiro Suehiro, creator of the musical work for “Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World” and “GOLDEN KAMUY”.

In addition, KOEI TECMO announced a collaboration between Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, a popular action game that has sold over 10 million copies worldwide and is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, Steam, and the Microsoft Store. The collaboration begins March 3 in NARAKA, and will be available in an upcoming DLC for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

A collaboration with the clothing brand EDWIN has also been announced. Items based on the game world are planned to be created in collaboration with Team NINJA, with further details to be announced in the near future!
