Revealed during Alan Wake 2’s Game Direction award reveal, New Game Plus is coming next week. Kyle Rowley, Game Director, brought it up at the end with a special shoutout, confirming the earlier post made on socials. Alan Wake 2 is one of our favorite games this year, and this will not only add replayability but additional story elements. Check out our review here, and the announcement below!
Greetings, Alan Wake 2 Community!
Prepare for an enhanced adventure as we introduce “The Final Draft,” providing you with another compelling reason to dive back into the immersive world of Alan Wake.
The Final Draft unveils a new ending to the layered story of Alan Wake, sure to spark speculation and theories among our dedicated fans. Additionally, there is new lore to be found in the form of a few new videos and manuscript pages that have been added to New Game Plus experience, along with other subtle additions.
Players will retain all weapons, Charms and character upgrades earned during their first playthrough. They should come in handy when you seek the ultimate challenge of trying out the new Nightmare Difficulty level. Brace yourselves for intensified enemies, strategic gameplay, and an adrenaline-pumping experience that will push your skills to the limit.
Note: You will find your unlocked weapons in the first available shoebox for the character. This means that you don’t start New Game Plus with the weapons already in your inventory.
This update also includes numerous bug fixes and slight performance optimizations. Stay tuned for the complete update notes, which will be released next Monday.
Unlock Criteria: To access the New Game Plus mode and fully experience “The Final Draft”, a completed playthrough of Alan Wake 2 is required.
So, mark your calendars! “The Final Draft” update is scheduled to launch on Monday, December 11th, 2023, at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 8pm Helsinki time across all platforms.
