Warhammer: Age of Sigmar reveals massive Cogfort for Cities of Sigmar

The Cogforts are part of a new range series for the Cities of Sigmar.

A new Cogfort that will appear in Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.

Warhammer: Age of Sigmar is getting one of its biggest units yet. On Wednesday at the Adepticon Warhammer Preview show, Games Workshop revealed a new Cogfort unit that can be assembled as one of two variants. The Cogfort is a walking fortress made of stone and steel. Players who purchase a Cogfort can choose to equip it with either a set of massive cannons or an arco-combustor that's used as a flamethrower to set rows of enemies ablaze. Games Workshop confirmed that players can field an entire army of Cogforts, thanks to new Regiment of Renown rules that open up even more variant weapons options.

The Cogforts are part of a sizable new line of Cities of Sigmar miniatures, which received a large refresh just a couple of years ago. Also coming to the tabletop are new named characters like Archmage Erasmus Zonn and the ranger Jorvan Kreel, a series of battlemages, Gate Gargants, and Freeguild Gallants and Grenadiers.

Many of the Cities of Sigmar units will first appear in a new Spearhead expansion called City of Ash, which is set in the fallen city of Anvilgard. Facing off against the forces of Order are refreshed Clan Eshin units for the Skaven. Clan Eshin is the "cloak and dagger" clan of Skaven and are led by a new Deathmaster named Crixxit who wields a deadly pair of poisoned knives. No release date was announced for the new units, but it's expected that they'll come out sometime this spring.
