News about the console release, a new game, and tons of other goodies!

The future of Poppy Playtime and other news!
Published:

It’s been a minute since I last dove into Poppy Playtime, so we have a lot of stuff to look at. Starting with the news that Poppy Playtime is coming to consoles! Poppy Playtime will release on consoles on May 27th 2026! Which is huge! Check out the trailer below.

Behind the Scenes

Alright, let’s take a look at some of the artwork that we’ve been shown over on Twitter. First, we take a look at what Scott Foerster shared on March 12th. These are some of my favorite artworks I have ever seen for this game.

Scott does an amazing job at making these characters expressive.
Seeing Dogday and Catnap being happy together hurts my heart.
I love how expressive the characters are.
This one is by far the best. I would hang this one my wall!

Other shared images are below.

I also wanted to share an image that Scott shared of an early Lilly Lovebraids.

Next, we are going to take a look at some concept art from Amberluvsbugs. First, let’s look at her process for making the image below.

I love this artwork with all of my heart.

She also did this artwork featuring one of my favorite characters in the series.

Continuing from those shots, we need to take a look at what Benjamin Yim posted on Artstation.

I wanted to show off this image because it shows how well the hideouts in Chapter 5 were designed. When I went through the chapter for the first time, these felt a bit tacked on to me, but now I’ll be looking at them a lot differently.

He also shows off a few shots of the Observation Room.

Next, I want to draw your attention to a video by Spencer Singer. It showcases a bunch of behind-the-scenes content, which I highly suggest you take the time to look at. This video is really well done, and all of the behind-the-scenes information is pretty awesome.

What we know about Chapter 6…so far

Okay, so we don’t have a release date or anything, but we have some news to share about chapter 6, regardless. Be sure to click the links to read all of the interviews featured here in full.

Pocket Tactics interview

I need to first call attention to an interview done by Pocket Tactics. They got to sit down with George Krstic and had a pretty awesome conversation about the game.

But what I wanted to talk about is the confirmation that the world is bigger than just one storyline. Which makes sense when you sit down to examine everything that the game has been showing us. Check out the quote below.

Leading on from the last question, what's next for Poppy Playtime after this arc is over? Can we expect sequels, spin-off games, etc.?

We can't confirm that right now, but one thing is true: the world of Poppy Playtime is bigger than one storyline. We've built a company with history, different divisions, different projects, different eras. That gives us room to explore. But no matter what we do, the important thing is that it feels like a natural extension, not just more for the sake of more.

We also got confirmation that Playtime CO. was a global operation when it was at its best.

Can you confirm whether there are other factories or sites that have similar stories to the main one? Can we expect to learn more about - or even visit - these different Playtime Co. locations in the future?

Oh, that's a fun one, and a very observant question! Let's just say the world of Poppy Playtime is far larger than a single factory could hope to contain. Playtime Co. was not just a small, local operation, after all. At its peak, it was a global entity with some big ambitions. As to whether we'll see those other locations in the future, we aren't ready to answer that just yet, but what a fun concept to explore.

Gamereactor interview: March 21, 2026.

Gamereactor interviewed George Krstic, and it’s an awesome read. I am only sharing what stood out to me, so be sure to read the full interview

Mob Games took a solid stance on AI, which I really appreciated reading.

What's MOB Entertainment's stance on AI?

Our focus has always been on the people behind the work. The creativity, storytelling, and artistic direction that shape our games come from the talented artists, writers, designers, and developers on the Mob team.

Like many studios, we keep an eye on emerging technologies and tools that can support workflows in areas like research or administrative tasks. But when it comes to the creative heart of our games, the characters, the worldbuilding, and the player experience, those decisions remain firmly driven by human creativity and the twisted imaginations of our team

This interview really drove home that the team is celebrating after the release of Chapter 5, which I think was much deserved, and I hope that they had a good time.

Variety interview: March 27, 2026

This one was an interesting read. Once again, I am pulling out what stood out to me, so be sure to check out the full interview. Zach Belanger, the CEO and co-founder of Mob Entertainment, had a lot to say.

We got confirmation that we are in the third act of the original series. This tells me that Chapter 6 is extremely close to being the end of this series.

“I don’t know if I’m at liberty to say much about it, but I would say that we’re in the third act of the original series. Let’s just leave it that,” Belanger said of how much of the overall “Poppy Playtime” video game franchise’s story has been completed, and if it will be told in full in the upcoming movie.

The Future of Poppy Playtime

You should watch this video because they give a lot of good insights. But that's it for this recap! If you missed it, though, we did get confirmation that another ARG is coming, which I will dive into when it happens!

Plus! Lily Lovebraids & Giblet did a Q & A!
