Today, Nihon Falcom announced the official launch date for their remake of the first Trails game, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter The game will launch on September 19th for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter follows Estelle and Joshua Bright as they travel the country of Liberl to become full fledged members of the Bracer Guild. Their journey will slowly unveil a conspiracy, and the fate of the kingdom will be left in their hands.

This remake brings several features and additions from future titles to the original game. This includes action combat on top of the turn-based system, which players can swap between at will. In turn-based combat, certain attacks will prompt a follow up similar to Trails of Cold Steel, while special attacks are now usable in action combat as well.

1st Chapter brings the game into full 3D and features a new localization from GungHo Online Entertainment America. The voice cast remains largely the same from the original release, though Troy Baker will not return as Olivier Lenheim, with Matthew Mercer instead continuing to portray the character after being recast in previous installments. Alternatively, a Japanese voice option will be included in the game.

Pre-orders for the game are available now from various retailers including Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and Video Games Plus, but details on the collector's edition from Limited Run Games are forthcoming. Additionally, a special set of merch is available for pre-order from Pin Box. Dubbed the Bracer Supply Box, this package does not include the game, but includes an orbment replica, a set of magnetic quartz to place in the orbment, Estelle's bag, a lether bound junior bracer notebook, a canvas print of Liberl and its surrounding areas, a set of art prints, two keychains depicting Joshua and Agate's swords, an acrylic standee, and three pins of Estelle (complete with staff spinning action), Joshua, and the Bracer emblem.
