Sony Adds Chicory: A Colorful Tale to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Catalog

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium owners were treated to a delightful addition this month with Chicory: A Colorful Tale. This delightful adventure sees players trying to restore color to a world which has lost it. You will solve puzzles and help out other characters along your journey. Although originally releasing in 2021, I feel this indie title was sadly overlooked at launch, so adding it to the Extra and Premium catalog will allow a new wave of players to enjoy this incredible indie title. FINJI (TUNIC, Night in the Woods, Overland, and Wilmot’s Warehouse), in partnership with Sony, has announced that their BAFTA-winning adventure game, Chicory: A Colorful Tale, is now available on Playstation Plus Extra and Premium as part of the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalogue lineup for September. The game has previously launched on Steam (Microsoft Windows and macOS), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Developed by Wandersong’s Greg Lobanov, and featuring an original soundtrack from award-winning composer Lena Raine (Celeste, Guild Wars 2), Chicory: A Colorful Tale allows players to to harness the power of art to explore, solve puzzles, help their animal friends, and restore color to the world.

With the goal to put drawing as the main mode of interaction for the player, be prepared to go on an adventure that will ask you to solve puzzles not only with logic but also with your creativity.

Strengthen your bond with your magic paintbrush and discover new abilities as you meet challenges: Glow in the dark paint will guide you in dark caverns and stamps & texture brushes will help you find your personal style. Personalize your adventure with these, as well as the main character! 

You don’t want to go alone? Don’t worry, Chicory: A Colorful Tale has local co-op, so two players can explore and color the world together.

The game is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian.
