Today, Sabotage Studio released their final update for Sea of Stars. Titled Sunset Edition, this update includes a Switch 2 upgrade with GameShare enabled for multiplayer, revised balancing new key art, and a new opening cinematic. The update is free for anyone who owns the game.

The Sunset Edition includes revisited balancing for Normal and Hard modes, wonderfully detailed new key art from artist Bryce Kho and the brand new opening that sets the table for the game’s story, its characters and the fascinating world they inhabit. The new cinematic allows returning players to put faces to Sea of Stars’ heroes of the past for the first time, with new scenes recalling the grim cataclysm they endured.
To date, Sea of Stars has been played by more than 6 million heroes around the world. After seven years, two major updates to Sea of Stars’ main campaign and a free, multi-hour encore DLC adventure, developer and publisher Sabotage has fully transitioned to its third game, dubbed “Project Sparrow”. Sea of Stars fans can look forward to a physical Collector’s Edition of the game shipping later this year in collaboration with iam8bit.

Winner of Best Indie of 2023 from The Game Awards, Sea of Stars is the second game from Sabotage Studio and takes place in the same universe as The Messenger, the studio’s award-winning debut. The turn-based RPG is inspired by the heights of ‘90s role-playing classics and follows the story of the two Children of the Solstice and their journey to combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic, the only force capable of fending off The Fleshmancer.
We at GamingTrend greatly enjoyed Sea of Stars and it's DLC, giving them scores of 90 and 80 respectively. We wish Sabotage Studio the best in whatever they make next, and you can be sure you'll hear about it first here on GamingTrend.
