Planet Coaster 2 takes you back to the movies with the Silver Screen Pack

One of my favorite packs for the first Planet Coaster was the Studios Pack as it gave me a ton of ways to recreate some of my favorite rides at Universal Studios. Well, apparently somebody at Frontier Developments heard my pleas as they are launching The Silver Screen pack on August 19th! In this newest pack, park managers can bring to life their favorite movie sets, backdrops, skyscrapers, and SEVEN action-packed rides! Let's get behind the scenes of this art deco world of classic movies:

More than just movie magic, this pack introduces seven action-packed rides, including the Vector New Gen Flying Coaster, the highly customisable, modern simulator-tracked ride Re-Motion, Fourth Wall, a 360° tilting-stage ride; and more!

Plus, with over 650 versatile scenery items and 100 animatronics, including enhanced returning items from Planet Coaster’s Studio’s Pack, adding a backlot to any park is easy.

Ok, 0:06 in that trailer? That's TOTALLY the entrance to Universal Hollywood. I can practically see the Betty Boop store off to the right.

Reminiscing aside, let's look at the rest of the features:

  • Build the ultimate back lot and studio tour with over 650 new and enhanced scenery pieces alongside over 100 animatronics! Plus, for players looking to build their very own metropolis, there’s a wide range of vehicles.
  • Sit, rotate, fly, and launch into the future of thrill-seeking on the Vector - New Gen Flying Coaster.
  • Kick into sixth gear with the Movement Construction - Slot Car racers designed for the whole family.
  • Travel beyond the screen and experience all the action in 360° on a tilting stage with the Fourth Wall.
  • Park guests can take a trip to the movies for the first time thanks to the Cinema.
  • Ground Control takes budding pilots on a gently soaring ride perfect for smaller guests.
  • The quintessential backlot tour experience comes to Planet Coaster 2 with the Big Screen Tour.
  • Direct every movement with Re-Motion, a highly customisable, modern simulator-style tracked ride featuring an adjustable robotic arm holding the seats, which allow the seats to be moved freely in all directions.

(And those seats totally look like the ride vehicle from Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey!!)

Alongside this update comes Update 11 -- a free update that brings with it a whole host of fresh goodies and updates. Let's get into some of the new features:

  • Your guests can now get goodies like photos from your coasters after their ride, and you as the ride owner get several options to adjust photo positions to encourage your guests to buy them!
  • While they wait for their ride, they can now see Wait Time queue signs. In true Planet Coaster fashion, you can use the pre-made ones, or build your own from scratch using all of the bits and bobs in the game. And yes, they work with standard and priority queues.
  • Five new concession counters brings us cotton candy, corn dogs, popcorn, donuts, and fries. Place extra trash cans for all those fried goodies!

Ok, so I'm a little excited for this one, but that's no surprise – I'm ALWAYS excited for more Planet Coaster! As I said before, you don't have to wait long – the Planet Coaster 2: Silver Screen Pack makes its debut on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 19, 2026.
