Lovecraftian Metroidvania The Last Case of Benedict Fox: Definitive Edition launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam

We checked out The Last Case of Benedict Fox on Xbox this time last year and we loved it (Adam’s review) and developer Plot Twist has been busy since, rebuilding the game to re-release it, and today they’ve done just that.  To kick things off, we’ve got a trailer to share for The Last Case of Benedict Fox: Definitive Edition, showcasing the improved graphics, enhanced exploration, and tightened combat.  Just seeing it in motion, I’m very much reminded of Metroid: Dread, and that’s high praise indeed.  Here’s how the developer describes their title:

There are secrets to be uncovered, young Benedict Fox. Together with your demon companion by your side, dive into a twisted world of secret organizations, forbidden rituals, and cold-blooded murders. Search for clues, explore the memories of deceased victims, and fight demons in this fantastical Lovecraftian Metroidvania.

The Definitive Edition comes with new story content, new combat arena to test your otherworldly might, improved and more fluid fights with demons and foes, and new quests and puzzles to solve. All of this, and more, is part of The Last Case of Benedict Fox: Definitive Edition.

Adam is back on the case, and he’ll be working on a comparison between the Xbox version and this new PS5 version.  Stay tuned for that right here at GamingTrend.
