LYON, France – April 28, 2023 – The dark whimsical Little Nightmares™ franchise crossed the milestone of 12 million units sold, Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. announced today — the sixth anniversary of Little Nightmares’ release.
The franchise has seen several games being released, starting with Little Nightmares™, produced by Bandai Namco Europe S.A.S. and developed by Tarsier Studios, in 2017. The game puts the players as Six as they try to escape the Maw, an underwater vessel filled with grotesque inhabitants. Its sequel, Little Nightmares™ II, released in 2021, told the story of Mono, a young boy with a paper bag on his head, meeting the girl in the yellow raincoat. This encounter leads them to explore various locations in Pale City, a place distorted by the humming transmission of the Signal Tower.
In addition to these, Very Little Nightmares™, a mobile game developed by Alike Studio where players have to escape the Nest and discover more about Six’s backstory, was released in 2019.
“The Little Nightmares franchise has seen some great growth and success since the first episode, which was released six years ago today”, said Arnaud Muller, CEO of Bandai Namco Europe S.A.S. “We are proud of the work accomplished by the teams at Bandai Namco Europe S.A.S. along with Tarsier Studios, Engine Software and Supermassive Games to make great games while at the same time expanding the franchise to more media”

We can’t thank them enough for their dedication and we are continuing to work on what’s next for the franchise.”
