This is, officially, the first time I’ve ever wanted to be in Illinois. SquareEnix is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Final Fantasy series with a concert – FINAL FANTASY 25th Anniversary Distant Worlds. Check it out:
The Chicagoland Pops Orchestra and Chorus will be performing the official FINAL FANTASY 25th Anniversary concert, conducted by GRAMMY Award-winning artist Arnie Roth. This celebratory concert will feature a pantheon of classic FINAL FANTASY music from the entire series. Details of the concert and the guest performers can be found at the official Distant Worlds Concert homepage.
Ticket-holders are invited to a special lobby event featuring a duet preview performance with Nobuo Uematsu and Arnie Roth at 6:40 p.m. The first 64 fans to sign-up can also participate in the THEATRHYTHM™ FINAL FANTASY® tournament for a chance to win the grand prize of a custom FINAL FANTASY® XIII-2 branded PlayStation®3 or Xbox 360®. Also at the event will be a FINAL FANTASY-themed photo booth and related merchandise for sale. All attendees will receive a free, limited edition poster.
The event is on Friday, December 7th at 8pm CS at the Akoo Theater. If you are fortunate enough to be in the area, I’d hit this up – this is one of those kinds of things that comes along every great once in a while. Here are the appropriate contact sites and whatnot – do the thing!
