Are you ready to rise up? Sega announced that Ryu Ga Gotoku’s unconventional RPG Yakuza: Like a Dragon is now available for PlayStation 5, with a free upgrade option for those who purchased the game on PlayStation 4. The game features improved frame rate and loading times, with three versions available for purchase.
SEGA® and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio today launched Yakuza: Like a Dragon on the PlayStation 5, bringing new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga and his ragtag crew of outsiders to Sony’s next generation. Owners of the PlayStation 4 version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon (US / EU regions) can upgrade for free to the PlayStation 5 version for improved frame rate, resolution and loading times over the PlayStation 4 version. Purchasing options include three versions: Standard Edition, Hero Edition, and the Legendary Hero Edition.
To celebrate the PlayStation 5 launch of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, all owners of this latest entry in the Yakuza series can download the Legends Costume Set for free on all platforms until April 2. This Costume Set includes eight different player ensembles that pay homage to fan-favorite characters from the Yakuza-verse, including Goro Majima’s slick tux, Kazuma Kiryu’s icy fit, Daigo Dojima’s streetwear and more.
Brazilian Portuguese and Russian subtitles have also been added to the game, adding to the already robust set of localization options that include a full (optional) English voice track and subtitles along with the original Japanese voice track.
Players have several game editions to select from when purchasing the game:
- The Standard Edition ($59.99, available in physical and digital format).
- The Hero Edition ($69.99, available in digital format) which additionally includes the Job Set enabling the Devil Rocker and Matriarch jobs, and the Management Mode Set to kickstart the Management mini-game with high rank employees.
- The Legendary Hero Edition ($89.99, available in digital format) includes all the Hero Edition content plus Crafting Set, Karaoke Set, Ultimate Costume Set and Stat Boost Set to power up Ichiban out the get go and bonus karaoke songs.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is also available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Steam and Windows 10. Owners of the physical editions of Yakuza: Like a Dragon on PlayStation 4 can use the original disc to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version, while digital owners will have the option to download the PlayStation 5 from the PlayStation Store. Save data will not be transferable between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game.
