Alan Wake 2 is one of our favorite games, and if you don’t believe me, check out our review. We also loved the Night Springs DLC (that review here), and later this year we’ll see The Lake House launch. This DLC is the polar opposite of Night Springs, with a dark, horror-filled tonality that makes your skin crawl. There’s also a lot of Federal Bureau of Control imagery, so maybe this will tie into Control 2 the way Control’s AWE DLC did with Alan Wake 2?
Remedy and Epic Games revealed Alan Wake 2’s The Lake House Expansion in Sony’s State of Play stream a few hours ago. This is the second and final expansion to Alan Wake 2, coming later this year.
The Lake House is a mysterious facility set up on the shores of Cauldron Lake by the Federal Bureau of Control to conduct secret research… until something goes wrong. We are definitely going full horror on this one.
The Lake House will be available with the Alan Wake 2 Expansion Pass, included in the digital Deluxe Edition and the upcoming physical Deluxe and Collector’s Editions of Alan Wake 2. If you own the Standard Edition of Alan Wake 2, you will need to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition to access the expansion.
Also, here’s more of what to expect from the PS5 Pro version of the game from Thomas Puha, Communications Director of Remedy Entertainment:
“Our graphics engineers at Remedy have greatly enjoyed improving Alan Wake 2 for PS5 Pro together with the team at Sony Interactive. With a game like Alan Wake 2, where the mood and environmental story-telling are essential, bringing ray tracing to the game as a brand new feature adds another layer of immersion. We have also used the additional power of PS5 Pro to improve the visuals and effects in the 60fps Performance mode, where we have upped the output resolution to 4K, making the experience look even better than before.”
