Time's Up, the three-round party game originally published by R&R Games, is now an Asmodee IP. Asmodee announced that it purchased the game rights for Time's Up and that it planned to release the game under its Zygomatic game studio arm. As part of the purchase, Zygomatic will "will undertake a rationalization and modernization of the Time's Up! range in 2027."
Time's Up is a version of the public domain game Celebrities and is played out over three rounds. Players are split into two teams and create a pool of cards with various references - the core game uses pop culture phrases like "Star Trek" or "BB King." In the first round, one player takes the stack of cards and tries to give players clues to guess each card in the stack. Play continues until time runs out, and then control switches to the other team. In the second round, play uses the same set of cards, but players can only give one word clues. In the third round, players can only pantomime or act out their card, with no verbal cues given.
Asmodee has published Time's Up since 2020, when it purchased Repos Production, who had licensed publication of the game from R&R Games. In 2025, Asmodee switched publication of the game over to Zygomatic, which specializes in party games. This purchase continues Asmodee's aggressive acquisition streak, which became a renewed focus of the company when it split off from Embracer Group in 2024.
