
In a surprise to RPG fans alike, the widely popular turn-based, time-traveling game Chrono Trigger is now available on PC via Steam.
While actually an enhanced port of 2011’s mobile version of the game, the PC version of Chrono Trigger features several new enhancements:
- Two new dungeons including the Dimensional Vortex and Lost Sanctum dungeons that original appeared in the Nintendo DS version of the game.
- Updated graphics and sound for PC optimization and and a re-recorded soundtrack under the supervision of Chrono Trigger’s original composer, Yasunori Mitsuda.
- Updated controls for both controller and mouse and keyboard support.
- New autosave feature alongside the game’s original save point function.
For anyone that purchases Chrono Trigger before April 2nd, 2018, they will receive a 5-track medley of the songs “Far Off Promise,” “Wind Scene,” “Battle with Magus,” “Corridors of Time,” and “Chrono Trigger,” Yaksunori Mitsuda’s digital liner notes, and a collection of six PC wallpapers.
Finally, the mobile version of Chrono Trigger may have also received a major update with the Steam version’s enhancements.
