Today, Valve announced that the new Steam Controller will be available for purchase starting may 4th, 2026 at 10 AM Pacific. The Steam Controller is built specifically for Steam to use in all your favorite games on your PC, laptop, Steam Deck, or other devices running Steam. It'll also work with the upcoming Steam Machine and Steam Frame.

The controller features magnetic thumbsticks with TMR technology (to keep them from drifting), two trackpads, grip buttons, and all the basic buttons and input methods you'd expect from a modern controller. It comes with what Valve calls a "Puck" that serves as a wireless transmitter as well as a charging station. Valve claims the controller is capable of supporting 35+ hours of gameplay on a single charge.

As for the price, you'll need to drop the following to snag one (inclusive of VAT where applicable):

  • US: $99 USD / Canada: $149 CAD / EU: €99 / UK: £85 / AUD 149 / PLN 419.

The Steam controller will be available to purchase through Steam in the US, Canada, UK, EU, and AU while Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwain will need to purchase through Komodo Station. You can check out the Steam store page here, and be sure to stay tuned to GamingTrend for more on all things Valve.
