In a surprising move, Bethesda announced a second Elder Scrolls game in addition to their tease of Elder Scrolls VI. The Elder Scrolls: Blades is an upcoming free-to-play mobile title launching this fall. Blades will retain the core Elder Scrolls gameplay we’ve all come to love, but will now feature touch controls and the ability to play in both landscape and portrait mode. While that might sound somewhat nebulous, Bethesda has released some information about the game’s set-up.
Experience an all-new single player story set in the world of The Elder Scrolls. As a member of The Blades, the Empire’s top agents, you are forced into exile. On the run, you return to your hometown to find it destroyed.
Create any character you want and play a variety of modes. Become your town’s champion through all-new single-player storylines. Create and customize your city, restoring it to greatness. Conquer your friends and rivals in epic one-on-one Arena battles. Or test your resolve in the never-ending Abyss.
Todd Howard, Game Director at Bethesda Game Studios, had the following to say about the announcement. “We’ve been waiting to play a game like this. The huge first-person RPGs we love to build, but on our phones. It’s incredible what we’re able to do now.” Visit the official site to pre-register for the game and receive exclusive gear ahead of its fall 2018 release.
