NFTs are the latest hot topic item and many studios are currently debating on whether to hop into the NFT game, often facing backlash for their decisions. Among those who have recently reconsidered their decision on NFTs is Team 17, creator of Blasphemous and many other critically acclaimed games. In a short statement, Team 17 announced that after listening to their game community they have decided to abandon their MetaWorm NFT Project and step away from NFTs.
Team17 is today announcing an end to the MetaWorms NFT project. We have listened to our teamsters, development partners, and our games’ communities, and the concerns they’ve expressed, and have therefore taken the decision to step back from the NFT space.
