Wizards of the Coast provided us with a more in-depth look at the upcoming book Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel anthology. Co-leads Ajit George and Wes Schneider dove deeper into the adventures and settings within this book, highlighting the contributions of sixteen Black and brown writers who all collaborated to incorporate their lives, backgrounds, cultures and myths across thirteen adventures and fifteen locations.
The adventures in this book will bring players from levels 1 to 14 as they journey through the kinds of diverse and varied settings which many find lacking in many of the current D&D settings. The Radiant Citadel can be run as a stand-alone adventure, but has also been designed with additional portals tol allow GMs and players to connect these adventures with other D&D realms as well as their own home games and settings. While each of the adventures can be run as a stand-alone story, they all contain seeds and references to the other adventures within the book, creating a lived in and connected world.
We received a glimpse at three adventures contained within the book. The first of these adventures is the Wages of Vice, a 5th level pastel-colored adventure evocative of the Caribbean isles. Orchids of the Invisible Mountain, a 14th level adventure which sends your party crawling across multiple plaines including the Feywild and the Far Realm. The Fiend of Hollow Mine features the Festival of the Remembered, when the dead return to celebrate alongside their living loved ones in a special celebration.
You can watch the full video above. Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel releases June 21st, and will feature a standard as well as a special variant cover.
