The Status Pro X earbuds are my go-to for...well, anything, really. They are remarkably comfortable, portable, have a fantastic battery, and sound better than anything else I've tested. Frankly, they're just about impossible to beat, especially at their price point. I said as much in my review of them in October of last year. Now the team at Status Audio are teaming up with renowned engineer Cameron Oatley, better known as "GoldenSound" to showcase their flagship hardware paired with a custom tuning bespoke to bring out the very best the 12mm triple-driver acoustic engine inside the Pro X has to offer. Under the hood, Cameron did a bit of tuning of the hardware to ensure a crystal clear sound delivered directly to your dome.
To cater to the most discerning listeners, Cameron has applied a custom tuning profile to match his signature acoustic styling, emphasizing transparency, soundstage accuracy, and tonal balance. This ensures the Pro X performs not just as a consumer earbud, but as a true wireless In-Ear Monitor (IEM) worthy of the GoldenSound seal of approval.
To celebrate the launch of these new commemorative earbuds, the team is also going to launch with a special colorway, true, but also a surprise – a 21% smaller case size than previous models!
