SandyFloor (CEO Jongchang Lee) announced its participation in the ‘2024 PlayX4 B2B’ at KINTEX in Ilsan from May 23rd to 26th for four days.
SandyFloor, founded in 2022, is a multiplayer PC/console game development company that has successfully launched numerous mobile game projects based on solid development capabilities. Last year, it received the Best Multiplayer Game Award at the G-STAR Indie Awards, proving its competitiveness. After completing the Gyeonggi Content Agency’s Gyeonggi Game Academy and being selected as an excellent startup for design content convergence support, it exhibited its game at a Thai game show through overseas market development efforts.
In March 2024, SandyFloor’s development team successfully attracted seed investments from Kakao Ventures and Kona Venture Partners. They were recognized for understanding the platform and user characteristics as genuine gamers based on the Steam game platform.
SandyFloor will showcase the casual shooting team battle game Great Toy Showdown, which is currently under development at this exhibition. Great Toy Showdown is a battle game where teams cooperate and compete to complete missions, allowing user interaction and communication. It includes PvE (Player vs. Environment) elements where users confront various monsters, missions that can be performed cooperatively with team members while roaming the field, and PvP (Player vs. Player) elements where the surviving team wins.
Additionally, it is a 2.5D quarter-view game with cute graphics, combining survivor and roguelike gameplay elements in a casual shooting team battle game. SandyFloor emphasized that it is the most suitable game for gamers who enjoy games like Vampire Survivors and have been waiting for a game to team up with friends and compete against various teams.
Great Toy Showdown will make its first public appearance since G-STAR at the 2024 PlayX4 B2B. A SandyFloor representative explained, “Through G-STAR, we received feedback and opinions from many users and reflected them. Through the PlayX4 B2B, we aim to introduce the game to general consumers again and verify the enhanced game fun.” They further explained the background of participating in the exhibition, stating, “In addition to game demonstrations, we aim to provide an appeal to the fun of the game in various ways through the sale of goods featuring various characters, on-site esports events, and the ‘Defeat the Developer!’ event.”
They continued, “Starting with this year’s PlayX4 B2B, we plan to participate in various Korean and international game shows to understand various national cultures and receive diverse feedback and opinions. Through this process, we plan to refine the gameplay and release Early Access through Steam within this year, and with the release of Nintendo Switch in 2025, we plan to support cross-platform play and transition to an official release.”
The ‘2024 PlayX4 B2B,’ hosted by Gyeonggi Content Agency and KINTEX, is themed ‘More Than Just the Joy of Gaming’ and features exhibitions and experiences of new games from Korean and international game companies. Visitors can enjoy side programs like the retro game market, esports competitions, and cosplay events.
