Rune Factory 5 trailer teases new monsters and guest characters from Rune Factory 4

We still know very little about Rune Factory 5, but we finally got our first look today, when Marvelous! released a new trailer featuring new monsters and teasing a link to the re-release of Rune Factory 4 Special. Rune Factory 4 is an action/adventure farming game simulation game originally released on the 3DS in 2012. The HD remaster for the Switch will feature:

• An expansive fantasy world, reborn in HD
• Special episodes with your spouse in the brand new “Newlywed Mode”
• A new difficulty mode
• New in-game cut scenes and an updated opening movie

Marvelous! also revealed that players who link their save file from Rune Factory 4 Special to Rune Factory 5 will be able to unlock special guest characters from Rune Factory 4, though it is unclear if these unlocked characters will be eligible for marriage or not.

Rune Factory 4 Special will be coming to the Switch sometime this year, with Rune Factory 5 releasing in Japan in 2020; the West does not yet a release date for Rune Factory 5.
