Treadmill Tuesdays - HUBRIS!

The Omni One REALLY shines in this title

It's Treadmill Tuesday once again, but today it's time for a little Hubris. No, I don't mean being arrogant, I mean the VR game, HUBRIS! Coming our way from the Belgian studio Cyborn B.V. and set in their "Hubris Universe", you assume the role of a recruit in the Order of Objectivity or OOO. While that sounds like something out of an Aldous Huxley novel like Brave New World, you are actually a pretty competent rookie, sent to join a terraforming project to set up an alien planet for exploration and colonization. Obviously it doesn't go precisely as planned, and that's where you come in.

As we're using the Virtuix Omni One, we are doing all of the locomotion in real time and with our own two feet. It's a workout, but wow it's easily one of the best looking and most complete game we've played yet! Built on Unreal Engine 4, it's a real looker on flat screen or in VR, with awesome swimming, jumping, climbing, shooting, and more. When you get far enough, you'll even get the chance to do a bit of driving. While I have to admit the combat felt a little one-note at times, adding in the need to physically run when you're in trouble adds to the overall panic a bit. Once again the Virtuix Omni One adds to the overall experience, elevating this Meta Quest 3 game to a whole new level.

We'll be back next week for a game that is going to work extra hard to get us demonetized! Join us next week to find out what we get up to that had me laughing nervously by the end. Let us know in the comments what other games you'd like to see us tackle on the Virtuix Omni One, and we'll see you next Tuesday!
